Today’s Soul Note is about the third element in creating your personal style. Using the concept of yin and yang, you can easily put outfits together to reflect your unique style. Yin and Yang refers to the relationship of opposing energies – light and dark, wet and dry, hot and cold.  Everything is a combination of yin and yang and each energy element has its own combination. Air is yang/yin. Water is yin/yin. Fire is yang/yang and earth is yin/yang. To get your unique combination we use your primary and secondary energy element combination. Find yours in the table to determine how much yin and yang is in your primary/secondary combination.

So if your energy element combination is Air/Water, your yin/yang expression is yang/yin/yin/yin ie 1 yang and 3 yin. So what does this mean for your clothes? Remember the clothing principles for each energy element in the previous Soul Note. All these principles have yin/yang qualities as shown below:

The goal is to take each of these principles and express either yin or yang in your outfit. Now take a photo of what you are wearing and work out how much yin and how much yang you are wearing (see main photo) and then compare it to your primary/secondary yin/yang combination.
